Texel, island for birders

On Texel hundreds of bird species can be seen. The island is all year round a hotspot for birders. Due to its location as most Western Wadden Island many birds make a stopover on Texel during the migration season. Sometimes very special and rare birds make a stop on Texel. You can also make a fascinating bird excursion under supervision of an experienced birder. On the island there are about 40 official birdwatching viewing points.

In De Cocksdorp is located the ‘Vogelinformatiecentrum’ (Birding Information Centre).
